Food Producer Celebrates Pet Business World UK’s Environmental Benchmark, Pet Trade News & Events


Raw food producer Paleo Ridge celebrates an environmental benchmark with 98% of its packaging now recyclable or compostable.

A series of projects led to the achievement, including the launch of new packaging for the Paleo Ridge Classic and DIY ranges last year, which saw several products move from non-recyclable bags to recyclable boxes.

Launched this year, the new Classic Mini range is also packaged in fully recyclable bags, which are more convenient for consumers and better for the environment.

Over the past three years, the company has converted an additional 9% of non-recyclable and non-compostable packaging to achieve this milestone. This improvement represents a sustained effort by Paleo Ridge to protect the environment and meet consumer demands for environmentally friendly product packaging.

Additionally, Paleo Ridge has improved the durability of its delivery packaging, using an environmentally friendly insulation and void fill solution. By using filler paper, which is made from 100% recycled paper, bubble wrap is no longer required, dramatically reducing waste that would otherwise end up in landfills.

The transition to environmentally friendly WoolCool, an efficient and sustainable alternative to polystyrene when transporting frozen products, has further enabled Paleo Ridge to consider all aspects of delivery packaging from an environmental perspective.
