SHREWSBURY – SELCO now offers a commercial fleet electric vehicle rebate program.
Commercial, utility and municipal customers will be eligible to receive incentives for 2017 model year or newer battery-electric or plug-in hybrid vehicles.
“Replacing commercial fleet vehicles with electric vehicles can help lower the total cost of fleet ownership by reducing fuel, operating and maintenance costs,” SELCO said in a recent press release.
Rebates range from $1,300 to $1,800 for battery electric vehicles. They are worth around $450 for plug-in hybrid vehicles.
SELCO also offers a rebate program on commercial electric vehicle chargers. This means businesses can receive rebates of up to $5,000 per location for installing electric vehicle chargers.
This, SELCO said, will entice commercial, municipal and industrial customers to install the charging equipment.
“While reducing the initial cost of electric vehicles for our customers is an important aspect of supporting the adoption of electric vehicles, another equally important aspect is supporting the development of electric vehicle charging infrastructure in Shrewsbury. so that it becomes common and not rare,” SELCO said.
These programs are just the latest initiatives from SELCO.
The utility already has an electric vehicle rebate program that incentivizes customers to buy or lease new or used battery electric vehicles and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles.
